Registration and Accreditation

This year's Annual Meetings events will be held on October 11-17, 2021.

All public and by-invitation-only events—including the Program of Seminars and other public events, ministerial meetings, CSO engagements, and press conferences—will be virtual and accessible on IMF and World Bank digital platforms.

Registration may be required to some of the virtual events. To facilitate accreditation and registration, participants are divided into five different categories, described below. Registration is now open. To allow sufficient time for processing registration applications prior to the Meetings, please submit your registration for Guests and CSOs by mid-September.

Guests who register for the 2021 Annual Meeting will have access to a range of features designed to offer a rich and engaging experience, tailored to virtual environment. For example, you will have:

  • The ability to create a personalized events calendar and subscribe to Meetings related communications
  • The opportunity to make contacts and network virtually with other Annual Meetings participants
  • The chance to participate in informal meetings with IMF economists and join online discussion forums

All Guests are subject to clearance. Because the clearance process may take up to two weeks, Guests are strongly encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Guest accreditation is not transferrable.

Who may apply as a Guest?

  1. Parliamentarians and Senators.
  2. Private Sector: Representatives from financial institutions and banks, commercial enterprises, consulting, and contractor firms who have professional interest in the operations and affairs of the WBG and the IMF.
  3. Academia: University professors, researchers, and faculty members who have professional and educational interest in the operations and affairs of  the WBG and the IMF.

For students interested in attending, an endorsement letter is required from the Head of Department or Vice Chancellor of the University confirming status in the University and stating academic interest ( Note: Supporting documentation should be submitted with the online application ).

WBG Guest or IMF Guest?

Applicants are requested to choose whether they are to be listed as WBG Guests or IMF Guests, based on their focus during the Annual Meetings. The choice of the Bank or the Fund will not preclude access to events at the other institution. Therefore, except for restricted events, all WBG and IMF Guests will have access to both Bank and Fund virtual events. (Note: Submitting Guest registration requests to both institutions will substantially delay the processing of your application).
